All events related to pastoralism naturally attract the interest of Grupo Lobo, which considers that wolf conservation can only be achieved with the involvement of all stakeholders within the current wolf ecosystem in Portugal. In this sense, dialogue with shepherd communities is fundamental, given wolves' dependence on domestic animals due to the scarcity of their natural prey. For this reason, Grupo Lobo could not miss this first edition of the Shepherds' Meeting, held on 27 August in Alpedrinha. This initiative by Canil d'Alpetratínia, in collaboration with Fundão Turismo and the Alpedrinha Parish, integrated into Chocalhos 2011, brought together shepherds and dog breeders.
