How to help

The wolf is a species that still has a negative connotation in society, especially in rural communities. To change this archetype, it is necessary to raise awareness and educate the population in order to promote a change in behaviors and attitudes towards biodiversity conservation, particularly that of the Iberian Wolf.

In this sense, the Lobo Group carries out actions for the general public, through lectures and participation in educational and environmental events. These actions address topics related to the biology and ecology of the wolf, as well as threats and challenges to its conservation. Depending on the event in which the lectures are included, they may be directed towards more specific topics about the wolf.

The results of this work have been positive, leading to a better acceptance of this predator and, at the same time, allowing the implementation of actions aimed at its conservation.

To request an awareness session, please contact us at least one month before the date you wish to hold the activity, via email at grupolobo@grupolobo.pt. In your request, please indicate the target audience, the approximate number of people, the location, date and time, as well as directions to the event venue. You should also indicate if you have a projector and computer available for the presentation.
We would appreciate any other information you believe may be helpful in preparing and conducting the session. Travel costs (transport and, if necessary, accommodation) are the responsibility of the entity requesting the event.

Participation in the aforementioned activities can be complemented by viewing the Grupo Lobo's traveling exhibitions, entitled "A Howl for Survival", "Coexistence with Large Carnivores – The Challenge and the Opportunity" and "Looking at the Wolf" which can be requested, subject to availability (see the Educational Materials section).

The presence of the Lobo Group is contingent upon their activity schedule. If they are unable to attend on their desired date, an alternative date will be suggested.

The lectures can be held online (Zoom, Skype...).
