Responding once again to a request from the organisers, Grupo Lobo was once again present at the National Canine Exhibition of Fundão, whose 3rd edition took place on 22 March in the city of Fundão, organised by the Municipality of Fundão. Only 2 livestock guardian dogs integrated into goat flocks in the Serra do Alvão and Serra de Montemuro could participate, as other specimens initially registered were recovering from injuries. Participating in this Canine Exhibition were Leão (CoimbróGLII), a Cão de Castro Laboreiro, and Nique (DraveGLII), a short‑haired Serra da Estrela Mountain Dog. Leão came 1st in the Junior class, obtaining Very Good, and Nique, who also came 1st in the Puppy class, obtained Good. It was another opportunity to introduce dog breeders and the general public to the specimens integrated by Grupo Lobo as part of its project to promote the use of national livestock guardian dog breeds to reduce the predatory impact of the wolf on domestic animals — an action that also contributes to the recovery of these threatened national dog breeds.
