At the invitation of the Pinhel Municipal Council, a lecture was given on the wolf and the main results obtained through the various actions carried out during the LIFE MedWolf Project in the Beira Interior region, which includes the municipality of Pinhel. In addition to the results of wolf monitoring in the region, the results of implementing the use of livestock guardian dogs and permanent fencing as a way to reduce wolf damage to flocks and herds were also presented, as well as wolf‑focused ecotourism promotion activities in the region. This gathering, which took place on 28 September at the Towers of Pinhel Castle, initiated a series of information sessions that covered several parish councils and complemented both a travelling exhibition on European large carnivores and a photographic exhibition on the wolf.
