How to help

The Livestock Guardian Dog Programme was presented at a meeting on the Iberian wolf, organised by PAN‑Porto and the Movimento Gaio, held in Porto on 2 February. This participation aimed to inform those present about measures to mitigate conflicts with the wolf arising from livestock depredation, such as the use of livestock guardian dogs, highlighting their effectiveness but also their limitations and recommended best practices. The main results of the Programme were presented, particularly those obtained in the LIFE MedWolf Project in a region of recent species expansion, where coexistence habits have been lost in recent decades, making it harder to adapt livestock management to the presence of the wolf.
