At the 29th edition of the Castro Laboreiro Dog Monographic Show, held on 27 July at the Parque do Torrão da Veiga in Salto, Montalegre, four specimens from the Livestock Guardian Dog Programme were present, used in the protection of flocks and herds in the Peneda and Gerês mountains, along with other descendants of dogs from the same Programme. The presence of these dogs at the Show, which was part of the V Barrosão Week, helped to promote the breed and raise awareness of the specimens used in livestock protection. The oldest male was considered the 2nd Best Specimen, and a pair of livestock guardian dogs won the Best Pair of the Show.
