Photographic Exhibition of the Castro Laboreiro Dog shows the breed in its original function

A joint initiative of Grupo Lobo and the Castro Laboreiro Dog Club, a Photographic Exhibition was prepared to promote the Castro Laboreiro Dog, in particular its function as a livestock guardian dog and its relationship with the conservation efforts for the Iberian wolf in Portugal. It is a collective exhibition bringing together photographs kindly donated by various photographers, both professional and amateur, with photo editing by Pedro Alarcão. The exhibition was inaugurated on 14 August 2005 at the auditorium of the Peneda‑Gerês National Park Gateway in Lamas de Mouro (municipality of Melgaço), on the occasion of the 16th Castro Laboreiro Dog Monographic Show. It was subsequently exhibited at the Melgaço Cultural Centre and at the Castelo Branco Agricultural College, on the occasion of the 2nd Luso‑Spanish Congress on the Iberian Wolf in November 2005. The exhibition is designed to be itinerant so that it can be displayed in various locations, and may be requested from Grupo Lobo or the Castro Laboreiro Dog Club.
