Wolf conservation and the actions developed by Grupo Lobo, with emphasis on the Livestock Guardian Dog Programme, were the topic of conversation on the programme 4xCiência, broadcast on 22 May on RTPN. At the invitation of the resident scientist, Prof. Cecília Arraiano, the President of Grupo Lobo, Prof. Francisco Fonseca was present to talk about the wolf, the threats to its conservation and the actions that have been developed, such as promoting the use of livestock guardian dogs of native breeds, which help to reduce the losses and conflicts of rural communities with the wolf. The interview was complemented by a brief report on a pair of Cão de Castro Laboreiro livestock guardian dogs, "Naice" and "Lassie", recently integrated by Grupo Lobo into a flock in the Montalegre region, who have shown a natural talent for accompanying and protecting the livestock.
