How to help

At the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Iberian Wolf Recovery Centre, held on 30 June, several guests were present who had the opportunity to spend a different afternoon talking about... wolves. Lord, a handsome and friendly male Castro Laboreiro Dog, was one of the guests, accompanied by his owner, Mr. António Antunes. Lord's presence was intended to honour this national dog breed, still little known, which has demonstrated its value in protecting flocks from predator attacks. The Castro Laboreiro Dog is one of the breeds that Grupo Lobo has integrated into flocks, as part of its project aimed at helping to revive the use of livestock guardian dogs as a way of reducing the economic losses resulting from wolf predation on domestic animals.
