How to help

Grupo Lobo was also present at the first edition of the Art Nature Fest in Fafião on 29 and 30 June, in the heart of the Peneda‑Gerês National Park. This village, now designated the "Wolf Village", was once a place where the wolf was hunted and captured in the wolf trap built on the outskirts of the village, due to the damage it caused to livestock. This Festival, organised by the Associação Vezeira, which combines art and nature, aims to alert and raise awareness among the local community and visitors about the need to conserve the Iberian wolf. With a full programme (theatre, music, photography, painting and sculpture), the display of informative panels about the wolf and livestock guardian dogs, as well as the presence of a Castro Laboreiro Dog integrated into a goat herd from the village, helped to showcase the work carried out by the Livestock Guardian Dog Programme to promote coexistence with the wolf in Portugal.
